On 15th February, 1915, the 4th King’s Royal Rifle Corps battalion of 80 Brigade, 27th Division left their billets in Dickebusch and moved to trenches at St Eloi, just to the south of Ypres where they stayed until relieved on 17th February. There was little activity by the enemy on 17th February but one trench was shelled and two men were killed, and Edward Hough was wounded. He died from these wounds on 22nd February.
